So Dark the Night

Henri Cassin (Steven Geray), a renowned Paris detective, falls in love with country innkeeper's daughter Nanette Michaud (Micheline Cheirel) while on vacation. With Nanette already betrothed to a local farmer, Leon (Paul Marion), their engagement party ends in tragedy when both Nanette and Leon disappear. Cassin investigates, eventually discovering he is the murderer, driven by schizophrenia.
