The Secret of Moonacre

When 13-year-old Maria Merryweather's father dies, leaving her orphaned and homeless, she is forced to leave her luxurious London life to go and live with Sir Benjamin, an eccentric uncle she didn't know she had, at the mysterious Moonacre Manor. Dakota Blue Richards stars as Maria Merryweather in this family fantasy film loosely based on Elizabeth Goudge's 1946 novel The Little White Horse. After inheriting a book about the magical pearls from the moon, Maria discovers that she is the new Moon Princess and must find a way to break a centuries-old curse that will plunge her valley into eternal darkness unless a "pure heart" is heard.
