In this unsettling remake of the 1971 classic, social misfit Willard Stiles finds temporary refuge in an unlikely friendship with a group of rats that inhabit his late father's decaying mansion. Desperate for companionship and escape from his cruel mother and boss, Willard befriends a brood of rodents, including Socrates, a white rat who becomes his only real friend. But as their bond deepens, the rats' sinister nature reveals itself, and they begin to exact a deadly revenge on anyone who dares to bully their sensitive new master.
