A journalist, Reiko Asakawa (Nanako Matsushima), investigates her niece's death and finds a mysterious videotape that is linked to a series of deaths. The tape, which contains brief, seemingly unrelated scenes accompanied by screeching sounds, seems to be cursed, and whoever watches it dies seven days later.
