Cool Hand Luke

Luke Jackson (Paul Newman) lands himself in a Deep South prison farm for drunkenly beheading several parking meters. He refuses to be ground down by the system and its grinning warden, and becomes something of a hero to his fellow inmates. Luke rebels to the point of no return, earning the respect and admiration of those around him, including Dragline (George Kennedy), who eventually christens him "Cool Hand Luke".
