In the sweltering summer of 2015, Helsinki was on the brink of chaos as a simmering unrest threatened to boil over. In reverse chronological order, "Flowers of Evil" chronicles the events leading up to the riots, where gangs of young people were hell-bent on destruction, targeting security guards and public buildings with impunity. Set against the backdrop of a multicultural society teetering on the edge, the film paints a vivid portrait of desperation, alienation, and frustration among Helsinki's youth culture, as poverty and isolation corrode the very fabric of the city.
