A mystical and emotional journey unfolds in this 1989 sports fantasy drama film, as Ray Kinsella, an Iowa farmer, is instructed by a mysterious voice to build a baseball diamond in his cornfield. The result is a magical convergence of the past and present, bringing together the ghosts of deceased ballplayers, including Shoeless Joe Jackson, who reappears alongside seven other members of the infamous 1919 Chicago White Sox team. As Ray pursues a reclusive author, Terence Mann, to help him unravel the voice's enigmatic messages, he uncovers a powerful family legacy and the transformative power of forgiveness, redemption, and reliving childhood dreams.
