Wings of Desire

In a Berlin divided by the Berlin Wall, two invisible, immortal angels watch over the city, unseen and unheard by its human inhabitants, as they observe and listen to the thoughts of Berliners. Among them is Damiel, who falls in love with a profoundly lonely circus trapeze artist named Marion, leading him to choose becoming mortal so he can experience human sensory pleasures and discover human love. As he navigates life for the first time, Damiel discovers the limits and genuineness of human existence through his experiences, including tasting food and drinking coffee, and gains knowledge no angel is capable of achieving.
