Tower

Combining archival footage with rotoscopic animation, Tower reveals the untold stories of the witnesses, heroes and survivors of America's first mass school shooting, when a traumatic event brought out the best in so many others. The film recreates the 1966 shootings at the University of Texas at Austin from the perspectives of several survivors, using actors filmed and later animated to recreate their recounts. Archival footage is combined with animation to illustrate the geography of the campus and bring this painful chapter of American history to life, probing into it with sensitivity and grace.
