Trance

During a heist on an auction house, thieves take a package containing a valuable painting, but the contents are revealed to be empty, leaving them to double-cross the leader, Franck. Simon Newton, the "inside man", is kidnapped and tortured by Franck's gang after a violent confrontation, but suffers from amnesia after being hit on the head, rendering him unable to recall where he hid the painting. As Simon undergoes hypnosis with Elizabeth Lamb, he reveals fragments of his past, including a complicated affair with her that ended in abuse, leading to a thrilling game of cat and mouse as Franck's gang tries to recover the stolen artwork while Simon must choose between remembering or forgetting his dark past.
