The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

Against all odds, 13-year-old William Kamkwamba invents an unconventional way to save his family and village from famine in Malawi. Born into a family of farmers, William is banned from school due to tuition fees but uses his resourcefulness to learn about electrical engineering and energy production. With the help of his father Trywell (Chiwetel Ejiofor), William devises a plan to build a windmill to power the town's water pump, using salvageable components from an old bike and bicycle parts stolen from a family friend.
