The Lonely Guy

Steve Martin plays Larry Hubbard, a greeting card writer who finds his girlfriend Danielle in bed with another man. After going through a period of bad luck with women, Larry meets Iris, played by Judith Ivey, who has dated "lonely guys" before and becomes the object of his affections. The film follows their romance as Larry's book, A Guide for the Lonely Guy, catapults him to fame and success, leading to a series of twists and turns in his relationships with Iris and others.
