Never Cry Wolf

A young Canadian biologist, Tyler (Charles Martin Smith), is sent on a government study to investigate the decline of caribou populations in the Canadian Arctic wilderness. He must survive for six months alone and kill a wolf to examine its stomach contents. Along the way, he forms a bond with two wolves, George and Angeline, and learns about their social behavior and positive impact on the ecosystem. With the help of an Inuk named Ootek (Zachary Ittimangnaq), Tyler discovers that the wolves are not the predators he was told they were, but rather an integral part of the Arctic ecosystem.
