Cuba

In 1958 Cuba, a British mercenary named Robert Dapes (Sean Connery) arrives in Havana under orders to train General Batista's army against Fidel Castro's guerrillas. As he navigates the tumultuous landscape of politics and war, Robert rekindles an old flame with Alexandra Lopez de Pulido (Brooke Adams), but her marriage to a plantation owner threatens to tear them apart. With the Cuban Revolution brewing, Robert finds himself caught between his loyalty to Batista's regime and his growing sympathies for the rebels. Ultimately, he must make a choice: escape with the wealthy elite or stay behind to face an uncertain future under Castro's communist rule.
