Gangster Squad

In 1949 Los Angeles, crime boss Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) is the most powerful figure in the underworld, with a network of prostitution rings, guns, and corruption that has intimidated even the bravest cops. A small team of LAPD outsiders, led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin), assemble to take him down, using every dirty trick in the book to dismantle his empire. With the help of Detective Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling) and a pregnant wife Connie, O'Mara recruits fellow veterans to join the Squad, tasked with dismantling Cohen's operations by any means necessary.
