The Quest

The Quest follows Chris Dubois (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a pickpocket in 1925 New York City, as he is sold into slavery by Lord Edgar Dobbs and trained in Muay Thai fighting on an island off the coast of Siam. After six months, Dubois is discovered by Dobbs and his partner Harry Smythe, who help him qualify for the prestigious Ghang-gheng tournament, a secret martial arts competition held in Tibet where fighters from around the world compete to win the valuable Golden Dragon statue. Along with American reporter Carrie Newton (Janet Gunn) and heavyweight boxing champion Maxie Devine (James Remar), Dubois must fight his way through elimination bouts to claim the title and ultimately decides not to accept the Golden Dragon, trading it for the lives of Dobbs and Harry instead.
