Tanner Daniels (Michael J. Willett) is outed as closeted gay at school, and the three most popular girls, Fawcett Brooks, Caprice Winters, and 'Shley Osgood, take him under their wing to boost his popularity. Meanwhile, Tanner's friend Brent Van Camp tries to follow suit, but the attention shifts when Tanner becomes friends with the girls, including Fawcett, who joins a Gay-Straight Alliance club to fight the school policy prohibiting it. In the end, Tanner and Fawcett win prom king and queen, while Brent teams up with Caprice to gain popularity; they make amends in the process.
