When God Sleeps

In a heart-pounding, thought-provoking cinematic experience, "When God Sleeps" (2017) follows the perilous journey of Iranian musician Shahin Najafi as he flees his homeland in response to harsh criticism and a fatwa issued against him for speaking out against human rights abuses. Against all odds, Najafi must navigate the treacherous landscape of exile, producing music and planning a tour while constantly threatened by danger. A long-distance romance with Leili Bazargan, granddaughter of Iran's first Prime Minister, only adds to the complexity of his situation.
