Buck Privates

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello star as Slicker Smith and Herbie Brown, two petty con artists who mistakenly join the Army to evade the cops, with a rich young man (Lee Bowman) and his former working-class chauffeur (Alan Curtis) vying for the affections of a pretty girl (Jane Frazee). The comedy team's antics are overseen by their bumbling drill instructor, Sgt. Michael Collins (Nat Pendleton), who chases them from being petty thieves to trying to teach them military discipline. Along the way, they're aided and entertained by appearances from The Andrews Sisters, performing patriotic tunes like "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy".
