Insomnia

Detectives Jonas Engström (Stellan Skarsgård) and Erik Vik are called to investigate a murder in Tromsø, Norway, where they devise a plan to lure the killer back into town. The stakeout goes awry, and Vik is mistakenly shot by Engström, who then pins the crime on the suspect. Haunted by guilt, Engström's insomnia worsens as he becomes increasingly unhinged, hallucinating about his partner and trying to cover up his mistake.
