Fat Man and Little Boy

The film "Fat Man and Little Boy" (1989) tells the story of the Manhattan Project, a secret Allied endeavor to develop the first nuclear weapons during World War II. The story follows General Leslie Groves (Paul Newman), who is assigned to oversee the project, and J. Robert Oppenheimer (Dwight Schultz), a physicist selected to head the team. As the project progresses, tensions rise between Groves and Oppenheimer over issues of conscience and personal relationships, including Oppenheimer's secret affair with communist sympathizer Jean Tatlock (Laura Dern). Despite their conflicts, the two men push ahead with two bomb designs: "Fat Man" and "Little Boy," which ultimately lead to the development of the atomic bomb.
