Sliding Doors

Helen Quilley (Gwyneth Paltrow), a London ad executive, is fired from her job and rushes to catch a train. As she runs down, her life suddenly splits off in two different versions. In one version, she catches the train and meets James Hamilton (John Hannah), with whom she falls in love and starts a new life. In the other version, she misses the train and continues with her complicated relationship with Gerry (John Lynch). The film alternates between these two storylines, showing how Helen's life could have turned out if she had caught the train or missed it.
