Hiromi Yoshii (Asumi Miwa), a high school girl living in Tokyo, engages in "compensated dating" with older men to raise money for an expensive ring. She meets three friends: Nao (Hirono Kudo), who is interested in computers; Chieko (Yukie Nakama), an older and more mature friend; and Chisa (Kirari), who plans to drop out of school to become a professional dancer.
