In "The Experiment", 20 men are chosen for a psychological study where they'll play the roles of guards and prisoners in an isolated setting, but the lines between observer and participant soon blur. A group of volunteers, including Travis, a proud anti-war protester, and Michael Barris, a man still living with his domineering mother, arrive at the prison-like facility for a two-week study. As the experiment spirals out of control, the guards grow increasingly forceful, leading to violent clashes between prisoners and brutal treatment of those who defy them. The true horror lies in the descent into madness and the destruction of human dignity that ensues.
