A neurotic blue-collar man's well-meaning but hapless attempts to connect with social activism land him in the midst of a revolution in a tiny Latin American nation. He becomes embroiled in the latest coup d'état, teaming up with real rebels and ultimately becoming their president, all while navigating a series of absurd misadventures and courtroom showdowns. With its anarchic humor and satirical take on politics, Bananas is a wacky romp that pokes fun at the world's most serious issues, all with Woody Allen's signature wit and charm.
