Queen Latifah stars as Gina Norris, a hairstylist who relocates to Atlanta with her daughter and opens her own salon, but faces opposition from her shady boss Jorge (Alfre Woodard). As Gina's business thrives, she must navigate complicated relationships with her staff, including Alicia Silverstone's character Lynn, and deal with rival salons and personal struggles.
