A day on the Sunset Strip in 1972 becomes a 24-hour period that changes the lives of several young people, including Zach (Nick Stahl), a novice guitarist who dreams of being the successor to Jimi Hendrix; Tammy Franklin (Anna Friel), a costume designer with a secret life of quick encounters with rock stars; and Felix (Rory Cochrane), a troubled songwriter struggling with addiction. The film follows their intersecting paths as they pursue their passions in the midst of the music industry's vibrant chaos, led by the enigmatic Duncan Reid (Tommy Flanagan).
