Harry Brown is a 2009 British vigilante film directed by Daniel Barber and starring Michael Caine as Harry Brown, a widowed Royal Marines veteran who had served in Northern Ireland during The Troubles, living on a London housing estate that is rapidly descending into youth crime. After his friend Len Attwell (Charlie Creed-Miles) is murdered, Harry decides to take justice into his own hands, doling out his own form of self-defense against the gang that terrorized him and his late wife Kath. As Harry seeks revenge, he follows a trail of violence and intimidation, leaving death in his wake, but also confronting the limits of his own humanity and the failures of the law to protect its citizens.
