Dark City

Danny Haley (Charlton Heston), a gambler who "took" an out-of-town sucker in a crooked poker game, is shadowed by vengeance after he and his friends cheat businessman Arthur Winant out of $5,000. Winant's death sets off a chain of events that leads Danny to try to find Winant's brother Sidney, believed to be a dangerous criminal, before Sidney finds him. Along the way, Danny becomes entangled in a romantic relationship with Victoria Winant (Viveca Lindfors), who is also being pursued by Sidney, and gets caught up in a series of murders and narrow escapes.
