A desperate father will stop at nothing to grant his terminally ill daughter's final wish, a ridiculously expensive costume from a Japanese TV series, driving him into a dark and twisted journey within Madrid's underbelly. This neo-noir thriller follows the events triggered by the decision of a math teacher to fulfill the secret wish of his 12-year-old daughter, as he becomes embroiled in a complex web of deceit, blackmail, and violence. With its sparse, austere style and rich emotional foundation, Magical Girl is a spare, contemporary social critique that raises uncomfortable questions about the lengths people will go to for their loved ones.
