Melvin and Howard

The film follows hard-luck Melvin Dummar (Paul Le Mat) who claims to have received a will naming him an heir to the fortune of Howard Hughes (Jason Robards). After a chance encounter in the Nevada desert, Hughes is brought to his home and they bond over singing Christmas songs. The majority of the film focuses on Melvin's scattered life, including his tumultuous relationships with Lynda Dummar (Mary Steenburgen) and his second wife Bonnie Dummar (Pamela Reed).
