The Aeronauts

In 1862, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) teams up with pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history. As they break records and advance scientific discovery, their voyage becomes a fight for survival amidst physical and emotional challenges in the thin air, including Amelia's struggle with frostbite on her hands after climbing out of the balloon to release gas. They eventually manage to descend safely after releasing the balloon's frame as a parachute, setting a new human flight altitude record.
