The World, the Flesh and the Devil

Harry Belafonte plays Ralph Burton, a miner trapped in a cave-in who discovers a post-apocalyptic world devoid of humans after a nuclear holocaust. In New York City, he befriends Sarah Crandall, a white woman, and later Benson Thacker, a white man, but tensions rise due to their racial differences. As the three navigate this new reality, Ralph's feelings for Sarah become complicated by his desire to protect her from Thacker's jealousy, leading to a tense confrontation that ultimately brings about a new beginning.
