"Cold Water" is a 1994 French drama-action film about two troubled teenagers, Gilles (Cyprien Fouquet) and Christine (Virginie Ledoyen), who become frustrated with their families' aloofness and seek escape through shoplifting and running away together. When Christine is caught, she escapes from a mental institution and the couple reunites at an all-night party in the countryside, where they plan to find a commune free from modern conveniences. As they flee into the unknown, "American rock music, including Janis Joplin's 'Me and Bobby McGee,' sets the tone for their wild journey."
