The Halfway House

A group of weary travellers, each with a personal problem, arrive at a mysterious Welsh country inn, where they're greeted by the innkeeper Rhys (Mervyn Johns) and his daughter Gwyneth (Glynis Johns), whose unnerving lack of a shadow sparks suspicion. As the guests settle in, they uncover the inn's peculiarities, including the old inn being bombed and destroyed exactly a year prior, and the air raid that occurred during their arrival. As the group's stories intertwine, they begin to realize they've been brought together to take a break from their troubles, but the line between past and present blurs, and the supernatural elements of the inn's benevolent nature become apparent.
