The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking

Pippi Longstocking, a spunky eleven-year-old girl, arrives on land after her father is lost at sea. She takes up residence at her father's house, Villa Villekulla, which the neighborhood children believe is haunted. She befriends two children, Tommy and Annika Settigren, and together they get into various adventures, including cleaning the floor with scrubbing shoes, dodging the "splunks", and helping Pippi with the problem of having to go to an orphanage. With the help of her pet monkey, Mr. Nilsson, and her horse, Alfonso, Pippi must fight off Mr. Blackhart and his henchmen, while also navigating her relationships with the townspeople and finding a way to stay true to herself.
