Reign of Terror

In late 18th century France, patriot Charles D'Aubigny (Robert Cummings) is asked by the Marquis de Lafayette to infiltrate the Jacobin Party and gather information on Maximilien Robespierre, who intends to become the dictator of France. Robespierre (Richard Basehart) has a black book containing the names of those he intends to denounce and execute, and he tasks D'Aubigny with retrieving it before his 24-hour deadline. D'Aubigny, with the help of Madelon (Arlene Dahl), a woman he once loved, must navigate the treacherous landscape of revolutionary France to prevent Robespierre's Reign of Terror.
