Hysteria

In Victorian England, a young physician named Dr. Mortimer Granville is on the verge of giving up his career as a doctor due to constant disagreements over modern medicine. However, after helping treat an injured woman at a settlement house run by his colleague's sister, Charlotte, who is also a premodern feminist, he gets an idea for a new medical treatment that will change history. With the help of a friend and Lord Edmund St. John-Smythe's electrical device, Granville creates the first vibrator, revolutionizing the treatment of hysteria in women, while his own life becomes intertwined with Charlotte's in unexpected ways.
