The Legend of Johnny Lingo

In the 2003 film "The Legend of Johnny Lingo", a baby boy is found on a South Pacific island and adopted by the island's chief, who declares him the future heir. However, the boy, Tama, is eventually outcast and ends up working for a wealthy trader, Johnny Lingo, in exchange for his freedom. Eight years later, Tama returns to the island where he was born and sets out to find the woman he left behind, Mahana, whom he vows to honor with his life's wealth. With his newfound status as the wealthiest trader, Tama successfully negotiates a marriage with Mahana, who had long given up hope of his return.
