Traveller

The film "Traveller" (1997) follows Pat O'Hara, a city-bred young man, as he visits his Irish Traveller clan in rural North Carolina and learns the tricks of the trade from cousin Bokky, played by Bill Paxton. Pat, who is initially rejected by the group due to his father's past transgressions, becomes an apprentice to Bokky and learns how to scam others, while also hooking up with Double D and becoming romantically interested in Kate, Boss Jack's daughter. As Pat becomes more immersed in the group's lifestyle, Bokky begins to question his own commitment to the scams and his growing feelings for Jean, a bartender he and Bokky plan to scam.
