Whip It

Bliss Cavendar (Elliot Page) is a bored teenage girl stuck in a rut in Bodeen, Texas. She dreams of escaping to a better life with her friend Pash (Alia Shawkat). Bliss discovers a roller derby league in nearby Austin and, after lying about her age, tries out for the Hurl Scouts, where she becomes friendly with teammates "Maggie Mayhem" and "Smashley Simpson". As she navigates the world of roller derby, Bliss also finds herself standing up to a bully at school, starting to date a musician, and discovering the joys of being part of a supportive community.
