Shi mian mai fu

In 9th century China, a corrupt government wages war against a rebel army called the Flying Daggers. A romantic warrior breaks a beautiful rebel out of prison to help her rejoin her fellows, but things are not what they seem. Characterized by beautiful visual effects and precision martial arts, the film follows Jin, a police captain (Takeshi Kaneshiro), as he falls in love with Xiao Mei, a mute dancer (Zhang Ziyi), and becomes entangled in the rebellion. As they travel, they are pursued by the police and the rebel group, leading to a complex web of deception and loyalty.
