Selena Gomez plays dual roles as Alex Russo, the family wizard of the Russo family who uses her magical abilities irresponsibly and selfishly, and Evil Alex, her evil counterpart created by a spell that escapes the mirror. Meanwhile, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Gregg Sulkin, and Beau Mirchoff play their respective roles in the Russo family. The special premiered on Disney Channel in the United States on March 15, 2013, and attracted 5.9 million viewers, who watched it in the UK with 575,000 viewers, making it Disney Channel UK's third most watched episode ever.
