Nostalghia

The film "Nostalghia" follows Russian poet Andrei Gorchakov (Oleg Yankovsky), who travels to Italy with his interpreter Eugenia (Domiziana Giordano) to research the life of an 18th-century Russian composer. Stricken by homesickness, Andrei becomes drawn to Domenico (Erland Josephson), a radical mystic obsessed with spiritual redemption. As Andrei navigates his research and his own sense of disconnection, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery and ultimately fulfills a promise to Domenico by walking across a mineral pool, only to find it has been drained.
