Pregnant out of wedlock, an educated young woman, Livy, is pressured by her father into an arranged marriage with a lonely farmer, Ray Singleton. Keri Russell stars as Livy, a Denver minister's daughter, who marries Ray, played by Skeet Ulrich, a young, personable, and family man.
