Airport 1975

A commercial success despite poor reviews, "Airport 1975" tells the story of Columbia Airlines Flight 409, a Boeing 747 on a red-eye flight from Washington Dulles to Los Angeles, which collides with a small plane and is rendered pilotless. Stewardess Nancy Pryor (Karen Black) is forced to take the helm, and her estranged boyfriend, Alan Murdock (Charlton Heston), helps her navigate the situation, aided by Joe Patroni (George Kennedy), the airline's Vice President of Operations. With the help of a military helicopter and a rescue pilot, they successfully land the plane at Salt Lake City International Airport.
