Martian Child

A recently-widowed science fiction writer, David (John Cusack), considers adopting a hyper-imaginative 6-year-old boy, Dennis (Bobby Coleman), who claims to be from Mars. David's life is turned upside down as he tries to help Dennis overcome his delusion and integrate into everyday life, all while dealing with his own struggles as a single father and writer. Along the way, he must balance his desire to help Dennis with the challenges of everyday life, including a demanding publisher, Harlee (Amanda Peet), who pushes him to finish a commissioned sequel.
