Battlestar Galactica

The movie "Battlestar Galactica" (1978) follows the last major fighter carrier, the Galactica, as it leads a makeshift fugitive fleet in a desperate search for the legendary planet Earth after the destruction of the Twelve Colonies of Mankind. Capt. Apollo (Richard Hatch) and Lt. Starbuck (Dirk Benedict) embark on a recon patrol that discovers a vast Cylon armada waiting in ambush, leading to a brutal space battle. Commander Adama (Lorne Greene) suspects a trap and orders the Galactica to protect the planet Caprica, but the Cylons launch simultaneous massive assaults on all the Colonies. With the Colonies in ruins, Adama assembles a ragtag fleet and sets out to find Earth, aided by Apollo, Starbuck, and others.
