Bao lie wu sheng

In Northern China, 2004, miner Zhang Baomin (Song Yang) returns to his home, a small and isolated mining village, after his wife tells him their son has mysteriously disappeared while shepherding his small flock. Zhang Baomin's search for his son leads him to interact with lawyer Xu Wenjie (Yuan Wenkang), who is searching for his own missing daughter, and Chang Wannian (Jiang Wu), the ruthless coal mining company owner who is suspected of being involved in the disappearances.
