In "White Lily" (2016), a complex relationship develops between Tokiko, a renowned ceramic artist, and Haruka, her teenage apprentice, who she takes in after her husband's death. Haruka's presence sparks a forbidden romance with Tokiko, but their emotional connection is disrupted by Tokiko's subsequent relationships with men, including Satoru, a young student who becomes interested in Haruka.
